2024 F1 Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying: Winners and Losers

The 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi GP qualifying was a surprise affair as the session threw up far too many surprises. In the end, in what was the least surprising thing, McLaren locked out the front row with Lando Norris in pole position, followed by teammate Oscar Piastri.

In P3 we have Carlos Sainz, but from P4 onwards is where things get interesting. We have Nico Hulkenberg starting the race in the second row.

In P5, we have Max Verstappen, who could not extract the maximum from his last lap, and in P6 we have the Alpine of Pierre Gasly.

The session saw another disappointing run from Lewis Hamilton, while Charles Leclerc was also a victim of track limit infringement.
