Patrick Cantlay and Team USA were the center of controversy at the 2023 Ryder Cup. In the tournament that was held in Rome, it was reported that Cantlay had refused to wear the team cap in protest, as players were not being paid for their participation in the tournament.
Since then, a lot has changed as the PGA of America announced they would be paying Team USA members for their participation in next year's edition of the Ryder Cup. After this announcement was made, LIV Golf professional Anthony Kim weighed in on the situation and shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).
Kim wrote:
"Loved @rydercup experience but NOTHING wrong w players wanting 2 get compensated 4 working. If @PGA gave all the proceeds of the event 2 charity players might think differently. @livgolf_league vs @PGATOUR is wat the people want #USA @RyderCupUSA @RyderCupEurope #MAGA"
