Red Bull boss Christian Horner has backed Max Verstappen in the ongoing war of words between the driver and George Russell, as he claimed the Dutch driver does not lie. Last weekend, Verstappen secured pole position for the F1 Qatar GP from George Russell by .055 secs.
While Verstappen improved his lap-time on his last attempt, Russell was unable to do so. It was, however, later discovered that the Mercedes driver had to take evasive action on his prep lap from the Red Bull driving slowly on the racing line. After a meeting with the stewards, Verstappen was handed a one-place grid penalty for this incident, demoting him to second for the start of the race.
