Collin Morikawa at The Sentry (Source: Imagn)
Collin Morikawa has started his year with a bang at The Sentry in Hawaii. He has inched closer to either tie or break a historic PGA Tour record for most green-in-regulations at an event.
He has currently scored 52/54, with the record being 69/72. The 27-year-old needs 17 more green-in-regulations to tie the record. Since every golfer receives 18 opportunities to do so in every round, it will be a challenge for Morikawa to either tie or break the previous record.
But he still has the final round on Sunday to try to pull off this amazing feat. He is currently placed second at the Kapalua Plantation Course after the culmination of Round 3 on Saturday. He has carded a score of 26-under. The US golfer is trailing Hideki Matsuyama by one stroke.
