Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III criticized Miami-Dade Police over its treatment of Olympic medalist Fred Kerley during his arrest on Thursday. The incident, captured on body camera footage, showed multiple officers subduing Kerley with physical force and a taser.
Kerley recently represented Team USA, securing bronze in the 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Through his X account, Griffin shared the body camera footage. His reaction sparked debate about proper police conduct and excessive force, as reported by multiple sources.
"This is COMPLETE OVERUSE OF FORCE by the Miami-Dade Police against Fred Kerley. The same Fred Kerley, who just finished representing the USA and winning a Bronze Medal in the 100m at the 2024 Olympics in Paris," Griffin III tweeted.
