Connor Bedard will be the focus when the Chicago Blackhawks play the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field on Tuesday. This will be Bedard's first outdoor game since being drafted first overall by the Blackhawks in 2023. He practiced at Wrigley Field with his family, calling it one of the coolest experiences of his life.
“It’s one of the coolest experiences of my life so far, and obviously the game hasn’t even started yet,” Bedard said (via NHL.com).
The Winter Classic also gives Bedard a chance to enjoy a fun moment with his family. He jokingly gave an honest review of his mom Melanie's skating.
"Yeah, my mom was struggling a little bit out there. She’s got an ugly stride, he said, laughing. "But they had a good time and you know it’s fun that our families get to be part of this. It’s a pretty big stage, being in front of your country."
