Pau Victor, Joan Laporta, Dani Olmo
According to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish National Sports Council (CSD) has granted Barcelona provisional permission to field Dani Olmo and Pau Victor in games. However, the decision came too late for the players to feature against Athletic Bilbao in the Supercopa de Espana semifinal on Wednesday, which the Catalans won 2-0.
Barcelona signed both players last summer; while Olmo arrived from RB Leipzig, Victor's loan deal from Girona was made permanent. However, the Catalans could only register the duo until the end of 2024, as they couldn't adhere to LaLiga's wage cap restrictions.
As such, the duo were no longer eligible to play since the turn of the year. The situation has added to speculation regarding their future.
Olmo has been linked with an exit from Camp Nou, with multiple clubs eyeing him with interest. However, it has also been suggested that the player wants to stay with the Spanish giants.
