Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions closed out the regular season in excellent fashion. In the most important game before the playoffs, the Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-9, officially clinching the NFC North, and plenty of other prizes, with the victory.
This game had a huge meaning. Both teams had a 14-2 record, and the division was up for grabs. However, winning the battle also meant that the Lions finished the regular season with the first seed in the NFC, which gave them a bye in the Wild Card Round and also the home-field advantage during the NFC playoffs.
After the game, Campbell and Kevin O'Connell, the Vikings' head coach, met for the traditional handshake in the middle of the field. But a subtle message from Campbell caught the attention of the cameras: the head coach was filmed saying to O'Connell "I'll see you again in two weeks".
