Deebo Samuel faced the toughest season of his career in 2024. With the San Francisco 49ers not playing up to the standards of the past three years, the wide receiver was one of the most criticized players of the team, with his high salary and inconsistent production leading to a lot of fans turning their backs.
However, the fact that the 49ers have lost two Super Bowls during his six-year career has also become a bit of a problem for the wide receiver. During his appearance on the St. Brown Podcast, Samuel spoke about the mental effects of both Super Bowl losses to the Kansas City Chiefs:
“Not gonna lie, losing the Super Bowl, it puts you in depression. You go months without talking to people, wanting to be seen… Losing the Super Bowl is one of the worst feelings ever. Think about it in our position. We just went through camp, we just went through the whole season, and we got here, we lose, and now you back to work in 3 weeks. And you’re about to do it all over again. Losing the Super Bowl is crazy. I lost in the Super Bowl twice to the same team.”
