Eldense will face Valencia at the Nuevo Pepico Amat on Tuesday in the last 32 of the 2024-25 Copa del Rey campaign. The home side have had their struggles in the Spanish second tier this season but will break from that this week as they open the year with a cup tie against top-flight opposition.
They beat Atletico 1-0 in their cup opener back in October with Unai Ropero scoring the sole goal of the game from the spot late in the first half. They were then drawn against Cadiz in the second round of the tournament, once again winning 1-0 via a late penalty strike from Ivan Chapela.
Valencia, meanwhile, picked up a narrow but largely deserved 1-0 victory over Parla Escuela in the first round of the Copa del Rey with Pepelu scoring a brilliant first-half free-kick to see off the seventh-tier side. They then beat Ejea 3-1 in the next round with three different players getting on the scoresheet to seal victory for the eight-time champions.
