Former NHL player Ryan Whitney reacted to the Chicago Blackhawks' rough first period against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night. The Blackhawks gave up 4 goals in the opening frame to the Sabres, who sit last in the Atlantic Division with a 12-19-4 record.
Zach Benson, Jack Quinn, Dylan Cozens and Alex Tuch scored to give Buffalo a commanding 4-0 lead after just 20 minutes of play.
Whitney took to Twitter to voice his disbelief at Chicago's horrible start.
"The Blackhawks just played the worst period of hockey in the NHL I’ve ever seen. And I played on the 2010-2011 Edmonton Oilers" he tweeted about the Blackhawks' performance.
