Collin Morikawa gave his all at The Sentry 2025 but still fell short of Hideki Matsuyama, who broke the PGA Tour record to win the season opener. Following Matsuyama's historic low aggregate at Kapalua, Morikawa's first reaction left everyone in splits.
On Sunday, January 5, Matsuyama entered the final round of The Sentry 2025 with a one-stroke lead at 27-under. He carded his third 65 of the week to finish at 35-under and beat Collin Morikawa by a three-stroke margin. This is the lowest 72-hole scoring record on the PGA Tour, which was previously set by Cameron Smith in the same tournament three years ago.
During the post-round interview, Morikawa reacted to Hideki Matsuyama's incredible run at Kapalua.
