Ex-NFL All-Pro goes off on furious rant blaming Trevor Lawrence for getting Doug Pederson fired | Image Source: Getty
Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy blamed quarterback Trevor Lawrence's $275 million deal for the Jacksonville Jaguars parting ways with coach Doug Pederson.
Pederson became the first victim of NFL Black Monday, departing after a 4-13 finish this season.
Pederson, the Jaguars' sixth coach since 2011, went 22-29 and failed to join Tom Coughlin, the only coach in franchise history with a winning record. Pederson's firing didn't come as much of a surprise, but many were taken aback by owner Shad Khan sticking with general manager Trent Baalke.
Nevertheless, it appears that this is it for Pederson, who might struggle to land a coaching job with another NFL team, given the fact that the league has been trending towards younger, offensive coaches in recent years.
