Former PGA Tour player Smylie Kaufman spoke this week about how he thought Scottie Scheffler would be held back by the demands of new parenthood. On the most recent podcast episode of The Smylie Show, the American professional golfer, who is also known for his sports commentary, was talking with Jessica Korda.
In the podcast, he and LPGA Tour player Korda, who has been enjoying motherhood away from the greens these days, talked about parenthood. Kaufman talked about Scottie Scheffler and said he thought the World No. 1 would find one aspect of parenthood challenging, which didn't turn out to be the case at all.
Speaking of Scheffler's dad duties, Kaufman said:
"Charlie and I were debating this about...what's going to stop Scottie Scheffler this year. And we're like, 'You know what it's going to be? It's going to be the "dad back." It goes out twice a year for new dads, and that's what we thought was going to go out for Scottie Scheffler. But turns out, he also was pretty good at engaging his hamstrings and not lifting with his back."
