The football gods give with one hand and take with the other. Entering Week 18, Saquon Barkley was on the cusp of history, needing 101 yards to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards set with the Los Angeles Rams in 1984.
But with the NFC's No. 2 seed sealed, the Eagles brass decided to bite the bullet and rest Saquon Barkley in their regular season finale against the New York Giants.
A number of NFL personalities were less-than-enthused with the Eagles robbing Barkley of a shot at making history. And while Week 18's action is done and dusted, former Rams running back Todd Gurley was thinking about how a chance to set a record was missed.
