David Carle made history when Team USA claimed the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships title on Sunday, becoming the first coach to win the title two years in a row. Naturally, NHL teams have come knocking at his doorstep following his success, not only with the young American team but also for his work at the University of Denver.
Carle has been the head coach of the Denver Pioneer's men's hockey team since the 2018-19 season. Over the last three seasons, the team has won the NCAA Division I champions twice, with a chance to secure a third title in 2025.
In Tuesday's appearance on ESPN's "The Point," hosted by John Buccigross and featuring Ryan Callahan, Carle addressed the ongoing interest from NHL teams. He said that he is not currently looking for an NHL job. For him, the priority is to win more titles at Denver. He also put his family's considerations forward, saying that he is set to be a father for a third time in March, making it unlikely for him to switch jobs at this time.
