Hideki Matsuyama has a new putter for the Sentry 2025. The name of the putter is Scotty Cameron center-shafted blade putter and it has worked wonders for the golfer at the PGA Tour event. He has hit back-to-back 65s and sits with a one-shot lead over Collin Morikawa on top of the leaderboard.
Matsuyama shot four birdies on the front nine of his first round, followed by three birdies on the last nine, along with an eagle and a bogey to finish at 65. In the second round, he shot four birdies through the first nine holes and carded four more birdies on the last nine to land at 65.
After Friday's round, Matsuyama also shared with the PGA Tour about his playing experience.
“There was (frustration), but I'm definitely satisfied with where I am…I don't know. Might not be good to get used to it, so we'll see how that goes. I was able to add on and play well, and so just everything was okay,” Hideki Matsuyama said.
