Collin Morikawa shared his thoughts on the potential format change for the Tour Championship, expressing that he didn’t mind the current setup and believed it was better than the proposed alternative.
Morikawa is currently in Kapalua for the Sentry 2025, the opening event of the PGA Tour season. Recently, The New York Times reported that the PGA Tour is considering altering the Tour Championship format, potentially introducing a bracket-style system with head-to-head play.
On Friday, January 4, Collin Morikawa discussed the proposed changes and stated he was content with the current format, even though some players have expressed concerns about it.
"I think it plays out to, you know, you could have a really good season like Scottie did and win it or not win it, right, as we have seen the past couple years," he added. "I did hear about it briefly, I kind of read up on it, I don't have New York Times so it kind of scrolled me out after the first paragraph."
