Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks has never forgotten where he came from. The Canadian forward has taken an active role in supporting his high school alma mater, Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Toronto.
Known for its strong basketball program, the school faced financial struggles that threatened to derail its success. Brooks stepped in to ensure the program not only survived but thrived.
During a late December visit to Toronto for the game against the Raptors, the school honored Brooks with Dillon Brooks Day. The event included the Dillon Brooks Cup, a tournament featuring his former high school team.
A ceremony followed, where Brooks’ Rockets jersey was framed and displayed alongside photos from his high school playing days. His family was present, adding a personal touch to an already emotional celebration.
