San Diego Padres have reportedly offered outfielder Jurickson Profar a one-year, $8 million deal with an optional second year and a pay raise, according to sportscaster Lee Hacksaw Hamilton.
The 31-year-old veteran, coming off one of the best seasons of his career with the Padres, is rumored to be looking for a three-year deal worth around $45 million. While Profar's initial talks with the San Diego front office didn't bear fruit, Hamilton reported some new developments in his podcast on Tuesday:
"I've been told the Padres have gone back, talked to Jurickson Profar and are willing to offer him one year, with a second year option with a pay bump. But they're not gonna go from $1.5 to $15 million that Scott Boras wants. They're willing to go $1.5 to $8 million, with an option, which sounds feasable to me if the Padres can afford a $8 million deal."
