Jake McCabe left Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers due to an upper-body injury. He fought Garnet Hathaway at the end of the first period and got injured after falling. McCabe didn’t return for the second period and was ruled out for the rest of the game. He skated off the ice on his own.
Jake McCabe missed five games earlier this season after taking a puck to the head. He plays on the top shutdown pairing with Chris Tanev. In 35 games, McCabe has 11 points and averages over 21 minutes of ice time. Earlier this season, the Maple Leafs signed him to a five-year, $22.57 million contract extension.
