Luis Arraez is arguably the best pure hitter in all of baseball. The infielder has won the batting title three years in a row, posting a .314 batting average or higher in five of his six MLB seasons. Despite his ability to rack up hits, Arraez has been traded three times in his career and could be on the verge of yet another move.
The San Diego Padres are reportedly looking to lower their payroll heading into 2025 with Luis Arraez being one of several veterans who could be on the move. The three-time All-Star is slated to make $13,700,000 in 2025 and become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.
The contract makes Arraez not only a prime trade candidate for the Padres, but also an intriguing trade target for several clubs.
