US golfer Max Homa was tied for the lead at the Masters last year; however, he eventually finished T3. He may not have won the tournament, but he experienced one of the sweetest fan interactions on his way to RBC Heritage from Augusta National.
Homa had recorded his best finish at the Masters and had taken home a staggering $1.04 million. On his way to Hilton Head Island, he had stopped at the fast food outlet Chick-Fil-A and encountered a "sweet woman" who paid for his food. He recalled the incident during the press conference for the RBC Heritage.
"I absolutely demolished Chick-fil-A on my way down. I was in the drive-thru by myself and I went to order and the person taking the order told me that the woman in the row next to me had paid for whatever I was going to get. She said that her son is 3 or 4 and I'm his favorite golfer, so it was pretty cool. I don't know, those kinds of things I still pinch myself," he said via Golf Week
