Max Scherzer will go down in history as one of the best to ever take to the mound and while injuries and age may have caught up to him, he is still an effective pitcher. Despite being limited to only 43.1 innings in 2024 for the Texas Rangers, Scherzer was still impressive when he was healthy, which should help secure another contract this offseason.
The 40-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri has not expressed any interest in retiring, opening the door for a return for his 18th MLB season. Even though the offseason buzz for Scherzer has been relatively quiet to this point, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman, that has started to change with four teams reportedly heavily interested in bringing him into the fold.
