Melbourne City and Western United square off in A-League action on Tuesday
Western United set out in search of a fifth win on the spin when they visit the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium to face Melbourne City in the A-League on Tuesday. Aurelio Vidmar’s men head into the game on a run of three straight victories against the visitors and will look to extend this fine streak.
Melbourne City kicked off the new year in style as they picked up a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wellington Phoenix at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Friday.
Vidmar’s side have now gone five back-to-back matches without defeat, claiming two wins and three draws since a 2-0 loss against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Melbourne City have picked up 18 points from their 10 A-League games to sit fourth in the table, level on points with Macarthur, Adelaide United and Tuesday’s visitors.
