MLB analyst issues "ultimatum" on AL East team to acquire Padres ace after losing $210,000,000 star to D'backs
Corbin Burnes' six-year, $210 million signing with the Arizona Diamondbacks would have hurt the Baltimore Orioles most who had a successful regular season with him in 2024. MLB analyst Chris Rose, though, thinks that they should target San Deigo Padres ace Dylan Cease in a trade.
Since Burnes lives in Arizona during the offseason, the decision to sign with the NL West team may have come keeping that in mind. Nonetheless, Rose, though, has urged Orioles GM Mike Elias to make a bold move before the offseason. The analyst explained the impact of Burnes’ departure and laid out what Baltimore needs to do next.
“I think they could have had the opportunity to re-up with him, and I have to take the family stuff out of it because the family stuff was going to trump anybody else here," Rose said on Talking Baseball podcast. "All right, so I don’t blame Baltimore for not being able to bring him back. But from a baseball standpoint, they’re the most hurt.
