Jon Heyman hints at Anthony Santander’s potential landing spot (Imagn)
Anthony Santander remains one of the most intriguing options on the free agent market. He hit 44 home runs last season, more than most free agents from this class had. His 130 wRC+ was the 26th in all of baseball, too.
His offensive firepower could lure several teams to sign him. However, he hasn't had much traction due to his age and poor defense. That's something holding back the LA Angels, who are reportedly looking into the free agent.
MLB insider Jon Heyman said via SNY that they're considering Santander over Pete Alonso.
"Angels looking at it. Again, I think it's the years -- possible gap there. They certainly are weighing that. I do believe Arte Moreno does want to get another big bat in there."
