Nantes and AS Monaco face off in round 17 of French Ligue 1 on Friday
Nantes and AS Monaco get the ball rolling in round 17 of French Ligue 1 when they lock horns at the Stade de la Beaujoire on Friday. Still licking their wounds from the Trophee des Champions final heartbreak, Adolf Hutter’s Monaco will head into the weekend looking to bounce back and secure their first win in 2025.
Nantes were denied a dream start to the new year as they could only salvage a 1-1 draw against LOSC Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy last Saturday. This came after a 4-0 victory over Jeanne d'Arc Drancy in the Coupe de France round of 64 on December 21, a result which saw Antoine Kombouare’s men wrap up their schedule for 2024 on a high.
Nantes head into the weekend off the back of a largely disappointing first half of the season as they sit 16th in the table with 15 points from 16 games, one point behind Saint-Etienne, who sit just above the bottom three.
