Ourense will face Real Valladolid at the Estadio de O Couto on Sunday in another round of the 2024-25 Copa del Rey campaign. The home side have endured a difficult run of form in the Spanish third tier this season and will hope they can find better luck elsewhere as they open the year with a cup tie against top-flight opposition.
They kicked off their cup campaign away at Guijuelo, beating the fourth-tier side 2-1 featuring goals from Gonzalo Di Renzo and Jairo Noriega. They then saw off Deportivo La Coruna in the next round of the cup as they picked up a 1-0 win over Os Brancoazuis thanks to a late winner from Angel Sanchez.
Real Valladolid, meanwhile, coasted to a 4-1 thrashing of Astur in their cup opener back in October, with three different players getting on the scoresheet including Juanmi Latasa who netted a first-half double. They were then drawn against Real Avila in the second round and won 4-2.
