PAOK and AEK meet in the Greek Cup
PAOK will welcome rivals AEK Athens to Stadio Toumbas in the second leg of the Greek Cup quarterfinals on Thursday. They met in the first leg in Athens last month and AEK registered a 1-0 home win, thanks to Érik Lamela's second-half strike.
The hosts played fierce rivals Panathinaikos in their first match of the year on Sunday and suffered a 2-1 away loss in the league. Andrija Živković had scored in the second minute but Baba Rahman was sent off in the 60th minute and Panathinaikos scored the match-winner in the 90th minute.
The visitors extended their unbeaten streak in all competitions to seven games last week with a 4-2 away win over Volos. Jens Jønsson scored in the first half and Levi García, Anthony Martial, and Frantzdy Pierrot added goals after the break.
