The New York Mets received plaudits from fans and analysts for their clubhouse culture after a strong second half in the 2024 season that saw the Mets eliminated from the postseason in the ALCS by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
While some players have shone with their leadership qualities at Citi Field, former Mets outfielder, and first baseman, Mark Canha shared the peculiar eating habits of his former teammates.
In a recent chat on New York Post Sports with senior analyst Jon Heyman, Canha talked about how his love for food grew over the years and the teammates who shared the same enthusiasm.
He said (8:40 onwards):
"I got into food growing up in the Bay Area is a very diverse place, and you're exposed to a lot of different cultures and food traditions and such. Then I went to Berkeley and there's so many different food options near Berkeley and just kind of introduced to a lot of different Asian foods there.
