“Pete Alonso just doesn’t make sense in Anaheim” – Ex-MLB slugger explains why the slugger doesn’t fit with the Angels’ roster

Los Angeles Angels FA Target Pete Alonso & Manager Ron Washington

The Los Angeles Angels are one of the teams in the hunt to acquire free-agent slugger Pete Alonso. While the team has Nolan Schanuel at first base, insiders suggest it could move him to the outfield.

With Alonso still on the open market and many other first-basemen having already signed, things are looking good for the Halos. They would love to add another power bat alongside Mike Trout and Jorge Soler.

However, former big-league slugger Kevin Frandsen does not believe acquiring Alonso would make much sense. He explained his reasoning recently on MLB Network Radio.

"It's funny because you're trying to draw interest from teams. It just doesn't make sense in Anaheim, it doesn't," said Frandsen.
