Not too long ago, Sandy Alcantara was widely considered one of the best pitchers in baseball. The Miami Marlins superstar was incredible in 2022 en route to winning the National League Cy Young Award. After an underwhelming 2023 season which ended with Tommy John surgery, Alcantara's prime seems relatively shortlived.
Alcantara is only 29 years old, however, he is coming off major surgery on his throwing elbow and we have yet to see how he will bounce back from the procedure. This has led to some believing that the Miami Marlins could look to trade him sooner rather than later.
