On Sunday, captain Sidney Crosby set a record for most assists in Pittsburgh Penguins history with his 1,034th assist. He did so in the Pens' 3-2 win over the New York Islanders in front of Penguins fans at PPG Paints Arena.
However, an unusual incident happened in the Penguins' previous game, a 6-3 loss to the Islanders on Saturday at UBS Arena. Crosby was initially credited with the assist, but it was later taken away.
Talking about the unusual moment, Crosby admitted with a grin:
"Yeah, it was a little weird. But glad I was able to do it here. It's a win. Yeah, it was a little odd the way it went down, for sure."
