Sivasspor will host Besiktas at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylul Stadyumu on Wednesday evening in the first Group D game of the 2024-25 Turkish Cup campaign. The hosts will be looking for a good start to the year by picking up a result against the defending champions.
Sivasspor opened their cup campaign with a 4-1 win over lower division side Keciorengucu in the preliminary round but have struggled in league action this season and sit just above the relegation zone in the Turkish Super Lig with only five wins in 17 matches. They will, however, hope to brighten an otherwise dim season by putting together a decent run in the cup.
Besiktas' last outing in the cup was their thrilling 3-2 victory over Trabzonspor in the final in July. Elsewhere, the visitors have suffered a dip in form with only one win in their last nine Super Lig matches after going unbeaten in their previous eight. Newly hired manager Serdar Topraktepe will be keen to begin his side's cup title defense with a win when they make the trip to Sivasspor.
