Jerry Jones' farming metaphor speaks volumes about Mike McCarthy's future in Dallas. The Cowboys owner's latest statement suggests he has already made his decision about the head coach's fate regardless of Sunday's outcome against Washington.
Jerry Jones, the outspoken Cowboys owner, and McCarthy, whose contract expires on January 14, stand at a crossroads. McCarthy has posted a 49-34 record in Dallas, including three consecutive 12-win seasons before this year's 7-9 campaign.
During his recent appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones addressed speculation about McCarthy's future. His words caught attention amid growing rumors about potential coaching changes.
"The hay is in the barn as far as our staff is concerned. I don't think something would happen out here Sunday that would impact where we're gonna be as we go forward," said Jones.
