F1 pundit Craig Slater recently talked about how Aston Martin managed to hire Adrian Newey and how the team's rivals would regret not signing the aero wizard. Newey will soon start working for the British team after finishing his supercar project at Red Bull.
In September 2024, Aston Martin announced that they had successfully signed Adrian Newey for the 2025 season. This was massive news in the F1 space since the aerodynamicist was a long-time Red Bull senior and helped the team win their world championships.
Speaking about Newey's arrival at Aston Martin, Craig Slater said that the team's CEO, Lawrence Stroll, did not waste any time in hiring the 65-year-old aerodynamicist. He added that though many influential seniors in other teams could have lured Newey, they did not want to fight a financial battle with rivals for him.
