All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso's free agency is stretching further than anyone would've expected as the former Rookie of the Year is yet to find a team in the offseason.
Pete Alonso was one of the most coveted infielders on the market after he opted for free agency after the 2024 season with the New York Mets. However, Alonso's agent Scott Boras' high AAV demand for his client has seemingly reduced interest from teams in the four-time All-Star.
The Mets reportedly offered a $90 million deal for three years in December. However, both parties seem away from a reunion. Sportscaster Evan Roberts feels that the Mets front office are playing the waiting game as they feel no other team will match their offer for Pete Alonso.
