Venezia will host Empoli at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Saturday in another round of the 2024-25 Serie A campaign. The hosts will look to pick up a rare result in hopes of turning around their abysmal first half of the season.
Venezia suffered their 11th loss of the league season in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Napoli last weekend. The hosts, who currently sit in 19th place have won only three games in the Italian top flight so far and will be desperate to pick up a win that could see them edge out of the relegation zone this weekend.
Empoli’s 2-1 loss against Genoa in their final fixture of 2024 marked their fourth loss in five league matches after losing just one of the previous five. Although sitting in 12th place, Roberto D’Aversa’s men are only six points above Saturday's hosts and could risk falling as far as 17th place if they fail to pick up any points on their trip to Venice.
