Collin Morikawa revealed that he had worked a lot on his game during the offseason. The American kick-started his 2025 PGA Tour season with the season-opening event at The Sentry. The tournament started with its first round on Thursday, January 2, and Morikawa had a good start to the event.
Morikawa made some changes to his practice routine during the offseason, one of which included implementing Sam Snead-esque techniques in his pre-shot routine. Before taking the shot, the American opens his lead hip and drives his right knee, then hits the ball.
PGA Tour golf analyst Sean Martin shared about Collin Morikawa's new and interesting routine prior to taking the shot on X, writing:
"Collin Morikawa said he did a lot of off-season experimenting. One change was this Sam Snead-esque addition to his pre-shot routine. Before beginning his swing, Morikawa now opens his lead hip and drives his right knee to mimic his impact position."
