Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has opened up about how the squad has reacted to the Dani Olmo and Pau Victor registration situation. The two players have not been registered for the rest of the La Liga season, due to Barca's difficult financial situation.
When they signed Olmo and Victor in the summer transfer window, the Catalan giants required temporary registration licenses to let them play. The plan was to have the finances required to fully register them this season without breaking Financial Fair Play rules. The temporary licenses expired at the end of 2024, but Barca do not yet have the funds to ensure their permanent registrations.
Both players cannot play for Barcelona for the rest of the season, unless a solution is found by the club. This has raised questions about their respective futures in Catalonia. Barca played against Barbastro yesterday (January 4) without the two players, winning 4-0 in the Copa del Rey Round-of-32 clash.
