Former NFL player Mark Schlereth delivered a stark assessment of Joe Burrow's championship prospects. His critique zeroes in on the team's dangerous dependency on quarterback Burrow to overcome systemic organizational flaws.
Schlereth, a three-time Super Bowl champion turned analyst, brings hard-earned NFL wisdom to his evaluation. Joe Burrow, despite facing relentless pressure, has kept Cincinnati's playoff hopes flickering with clutch performances and late-game heroics.
Speaking on the "Breakfast Ball" show on Jan. 1, 2025, Schlereth addressed the Bengals' structural weaknesses. His comments followed Cincinnati's dramatic 30-24 overtime victory against the Denver Broncos:
"As currently constructed, you'll never win a Super Bowl the way they currently construct their football team. Your quarterback has to carry the weight of that franchise and that organization every single day. You cannot put a guy in that position 24/7," said Schlereth.
